Irish Sea Cruises

This is a holiday for the more experienced sailor.

For those of us who love to sail the Irish Sea is a great place to be. Whatever the wind there is always somewhere great to head for.

Celtic Star is a big powerful yacht that can put to sea in most conditions the Irish Sea can throw at her.
Over a 4 or 5 day period we will aim to complete a number of longer passages, certainly including an overnight sail. These passages could contribute to the passage requirement for the RYA Yachtmaster qualifications. Together with the Skipper our guest will have the opportunity to plan and execute both the passage plan and the navigation for the passages.

We will look at the weather and tides for the week then decide where to head for. These might be harbours on the coast of Cardigan Bay, like Aberdyfi or Aberystwith. We may head across the Irish Sea to Eire perhaps Dublin, or Bangor in Ulster, or usually include a visit to the Isle of Man.

As this year we are sailing in Spain and the Canaries we are only planning a couple of Irish Sea Cruises. In 2018 we are running the milebuilder cruises as below:

  • 19th- 22nd May - Spring Cruise - Milebuilder suitable for YM Qualifying passage
  • 15th - 20th June 2018 - Celtic Nations Cruise - From Wales to the Clyde a 6 day cruise - A Great Milebuilder
